We all have our preferences, whether we like it salty or fresh. Its no different when making your way to the Caribbean, and yes, the Caribbean has you covered whether you like the salty beaches or the fresh river waters.
Dominica the island with the most rivers totaling 365, and Jamaica with 120, you certainly have options! not to mention the other Caribbean Islands.
According to Carol M. Bareuther, a U.S. Virgin Islands based marine writer and registered dietitian, there are 8 top Caribbean rivers to explore. Her list commences with the Martha Brae located in Jamaica, then makes its way to the Dominican Republic by the cool Chavon River, then the Rio de la Mina in Puerto Rico, the Indian River in Dominica, Balthazar River in Grenada, Shark River in Trinidad, Essequibo River in Guyana and last but least New River in Belize.
What’s your pick? Salty or Fresh…
If it’s fresh you got options!
And if its salty, the Caribbean Sea is all you will ever need!!!
